The Artistic Language of Easter

Easter commemorates the most important event in the Catholic faith — the Resurrection of Christ. Christianity from its earliest days has recognized the value of the arts and has made wise use of their varied language to express her unvarying message of salvation. This is because Christians believe that "for from the greatness and beauty of created things comes a corresponding perception of their Creator” (Wisdom 13:5).

Beauty creates communion. It unites onlookers from a distance, uniting past, present and future. The Church has always translated the universality of the Good News into the language of art. Let us admire together some masterpieces on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Please also share with us your favorite masterpieces in the comment field.

Happy Easter! Jesus Christ is risen! Alleluia!
